Located in London’s easterly Shoreditch, Albion gives the best of both with gorgeous homemade British grub served in stylishly minimalist surroundings. As part of a growing flock of deli come shops, the Albion offers food, shopping and a relaxing atmosphere with friendly service and proper banter. The interior is divided into two sections but maintains the cleansing white and brushed graphite features throughout. Ceiling lamps and stools are retro with a 1960s flavour, as are the genius Lyles Golden Syrup napkin holders positioned on every table.
Across the other side, the deli pays homage to many of the British greats – Marmite, Henderson’s Relish and Aspall’s Vinegar amongst others. In regimented formation, the shelves are filled with Kilner jars of pickles, chutneys, sauces and marmalades, resembling a make do and mend pantry. With locally sourced fruit and veg available everyday, Albion display their enticing seasonal produce in rustic wood, wicker and old fashioned brown paper holders with sweet Albion branding. Head over for a slice of Welsh rabbit or a hot cholocate and shortbread to warm you up as the autumnal temperature drops.
