After almost 20 years of gently guiding America into individuality through their clothes, jewellery and home wares, Anthropologie (the super cool sister of Urban Outfitters) has come to our shores and opened not one but two large stores in London’s prime shopping locations. Starting their European invasion last autumn in London’s sophisticated Regent Street, Anthropologie opened a second British store in the famously avant garde King’s Road in Chelsea this spring.

With high expectations for its themed interiors and installation art styling, Anthropoligie hasn’t disappointed. Luring shoppers in with their quirkiness, Anthropologie’s opening window display showed off  hundreds of used tea bags suspended from the ceiling, creating an orbe of colour which cetainly set them apart from Regent Street’s more conservative neighbours.

Throughout the vast stores, the decoration is both homely and crafty, reflecting their penchant for sweetly home made items and the look of one off pieces which is emulated in both the fashion and home ware departments. Walking round Anthropologie is a great way to be inspired for your own interior styling as they use numerous props and sell items which can be eaily attained elsewhere at the many car boots, antique shops and markets that London also has to offer (with a little post production). Having said that, Anthropologie is one of those places that always seems to offer that little something extra or an unusual idea that has managed to allude your grasp up until that visit.
